Light pollution
Most recently, European Environmental law has recognized that light is one of the nuisances that brings (related to character, extent and duration) serious harm or nuisance to a community or a neighborhood. Accordingly, in the context of environmental impact studies and within technical reports for planning permission the effects of light pollution need to be considered.
Our service includes:
- Measurement of light technical parameters and assessment of existing lighting situation
- Determine the spatial lighting of living and sleeping areas from luminaires in the neighborhood
- Determination of glare from strong or elevated light sources
- Determining appropriate mitigation measures to reduce and prevent nuisance light pollution
